"So you want to host a Rally"

Rally notes for future rallies. This is provided in outline form
for clarity and briefness. People who have conducted rallies in the
past are listed at the bottom for further information into specific
areas. This is meant to be a living document and added to as our
experience grows. Your Input is vital, please contribute your ideas.
Propose Rally to the Vice President or President.
This provides you a source of funds for permits and deposits that
may be required.
This is against your proceeds for the rally.
A. Sources: check area for 4X4 interesting trails.
- Should be able to do 4 days of running with at least 3 levels
of trails.
- Local jeep clubs are a source of information and possible
trail leader.
- Local Chamber of Commerce is great for who to see and areas to
look at.
- Off road publications and Internet.
- Check forest service maps and personnel
B. Camp site how many rigs do you expect, (<50, or 50 -100, Or
more?)
1. Government permits required?
- BLM, check the government listings in the local telephone book
- Forest Service
- State Lands
- Private
- Fairgrounds
2. Meeting area for:
- Potluck
- Group rates
- Catering
- Shelter
3. Camping services
1. Dump and fill site
2. Trash disposal
